Tis the Season

It’s that time of year again, folks! Deer hunting season for archery has begun in Georgia, and primitive weapons and firearms seasons are coming at us fast. There’s going to be a lot of activity in the woods with hunters setting up for the coming weeks. Stands will be hung, feeders tended and filled, shooting lanes cleared and manicured, and camps will come alive across Georgia and the rest of white-tailed deer country from Mexico to Canada, from the Atlantic Northeast to the Florida Keys. Have patience with the “non-locals”, their economic contributions by licenses, leases, processors, gas, food, and lodging are key spokes of the local economy. For many, they spend the year waiting on the week or two they get each year to get away and back in touch with Nature. Greet and treat them with the same courtesy you would ask to receive if you traveled to hunt.
